Scope of the workshop
The workshop aims to provide theoretical and practical guidance for the
safe decommissioning of research reactors.
Themes of workshop:
- Review of decommissioning plan;
- Cooperation and coordination between the operator and regulatory body during the entire decommissioning planning process;
- Providing the knowledge necessary in the decommissioning process, using the experience of IFIN-HH team;
- Carrying out practical exercises on issues related to documentation, licensing, dismantling, decontamination, demolition and radioactive waste management;
- Implementation of integrated management system: quality, environment, health and operational safety, for the decommissioning process;
- Dissemination of the knowledge gained during the decommissioning activities in order to increase the confidence of the society in scientific research and technological development.
- Integration of the Romanian scientific community in the international scientific community by increasing the visibility of its contribution.
The workshop is co-organized by
International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and
"Horia Hulubei" - National Institute for Physics and Nuclear Engineering (IFIN-HH) from Bucharest, Romania. The workshop is financed from Romanian Government and IAEA founds.
